The Memphis Grizzlies let a game get away from them Wednesday evening, but all things considered it was perhaps better than getting blown out and having to return home.

The Suns beat the Grizzlies 108-103 behind 34 points from Amare Stoudemire. The Grizzlies get great offense from Pao Gasol, who shot 13-26 from the floor and put up a 28 points. They also got 21 points from Jason Williams, but a miniscule 9 points from Shane Battier.

The Grizzlies also had their problems from the free-throw line managing to miss 8 of 19 shots in route to shooting a microscopic 58 % from the charity stripe. The Grizzlies now head home with an 0-2 deficit and will dig deep to pull out some games at home.

Where the Grizzlies have been fast, the Suns have been faster.

The Grizzlies will also need much more out of Mike Miller who scored a meager 3 points tonight after getting into foul trouble through out much of the game. Look for a big game from Miller in the Game 3.

The Grizzlies will also need to get to the free throw-line more often, if they want to have any chance at making this series interesting. The Suns managed to shoot 21 more free-throws than the Grizzlies and if they want to make things competitive, they’re going to have attack the basket and start drawing some fouls on both Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire.

Pau Gasol will more than likely have an other solid performance, but the key will be for one or more of his teammates to elevate their games to that of the Phoenix Suns’ players, if that’s possible. Thus far it looks like their demise is all but inevitable, but look for the Grizzlies to leave their hearts out on the floor in the remaining games of this best of 7 series.
